Welcome

For those who are just curious and/or looking for a church home, we hope this site will give you a taste of who we are and what we are about. For those who are already part of our faith community, we hope this site will help you stay in touch with what's going on. For all, it is our prayer that this electronic meeting place will only be the start of our becoming better acquainted with each other and the God who loves us! Stay tuned! PRE-LENT PANCAKE BREAKFAST-SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2018, 9:00 AM.

Monday, January 8th, 2018

Pancake Meals, just prior to the beginning of Lent, have been a Christian tradition for many years.  It began as part of an effort to avoid wasting those items that would not be consumed during Lent because of the spiritual discipline of fasting.  This might have included items like meats, fats, eggs, milk, leaven, etc.  Pancake dinners became a tradition on Shrove Tuesday, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, as a means of using up consumables like milk, fat, and eggs.  We will continue this tradition as our Christian Education Program sponsors a Pancake Breakfast on the Sunday prior to the beginning of Lent.  Come join us.  A free will offering will be taken to cover costs.

ESTIMATED GIVING CARDS FOR 2018

Tuesday, November 21st, 2017

ESTIMATED GIVING CARDS FOR 2018Your commitment to our church’s ministry is much appreciated.  For those of you who have not yet had a chance to fill out a card, we would be deeply grateful if you would consider doing so.  It helps us to make estimates of what we can and/or cannot fund next year.  Extra cards can be found on the glass cabinet in the lobby of the church’s sanctuary or by contacting the church office (477-6030, grcsecretary11@verizon.net). You may mail them in or deposit them in the offering plate on Sunday mornings. As of January 15, 2018, we have collected 78 cards (representing 73% of our church’s 107 family member units) totaling a commitment of $144,758 for the General Fund and $14,087  for the Mission Fund.  In 2017, we had 63 estimated giving cards submitted totaling $133,947.75.  So far in 2018, we have received an increase of 15 estimated giving cards resulting in an increase of $30,294.  Our goal is for 100% of our church family to participate in our 2018 estimated giving campaign. We would be so very grateful for your help. Thank you!

HANNAFORD GIFT CARDS FUNDRAISER

Thursday, March 9th, 2017

Do you regularly shop at Hannaford? If so, now you have an opportunity to help Greenbush Reformed Church raise money whenever you shop at Hannaford.  All you need to do is purchase a Hannaford gift card from the church.  Once you have a card, you can periodically refill the card through us.  When you purchase or refill the card, Hannaford will give our church 5% of the amount purchased (if you purchase a $100 card, the church gets $5).

So, go buy your weekly groceries or non-perishable goods for the Doors of Hope food pantry using your Hannaford gift card and know that by doing so you are also helping your church. Oh yeah, you can also purchase the cards to give as a gift!

Here’s how it works:

  • You may purchase your Hannaford Gift Card by visiting David Hallenbeck at coffee hour following church. Submit cash or a check payable to “Greenbush Reformed Church” for the amount that you want to purchase (cards are available in denominations of $25, $50 and $100). Be sure to indicate in the memo of the check “Hannaford fundraiser”. We are starting out with a limited supply of each card amount, so be sure to get your order in early to ensure that you will get one (or you will have to wait until we get more cards the following month).

  • When you purchase your card, please let us know if you plan to refill the card in the future (we plan to continue this fundraiser for as long as we can receive the discounts, so the more you participate the more you are helping our church). If you plan to refill the card, we will record your name and card number (as well as contact information). We will also provide you with a reorder form to use when you are ready to refill the card. You can refill the card with any amount up to a maximum balance of $500. REMEMBER: DO NOT REFILL YOUR CARD THROUGH HANNAFORD. WE ONLY GET THE DISCOUNT IF YOU REFILL THE CARD THROUGH GRC! Note: If your card has a zero balance for more than 30 days it will no longer be active and you will need to get a new card.

  • REFILLING YOUR CARD – By the first Sunday of each month, submit a check payable to “Greenbush Reformed Church” along with your reorder form (so that we can verify your card number). You can place the check and reorder form in the offering plate. Your reorder will be processed through Hannaford’s bulk ordering system, and once the funds are available on your card, the church secretary will notify you that you can use your card.

  1. Thank you for supporting this fundraising event and for supporting GRC!
