Adult Study Groups

THE AFTERNOON ADULT ENRICHMENT GROUP WILL BEGIN A NEW STUDY ON MARCH 7, 2019 ENTITLED ‘SHORT STORIES BY JESUS: THE ENIGMATIC PARABLES OF A CONTROVERSIAL RABBI’ BY AMY-JILL LEVINE.  ‘Levine helps us understand how the original audience heard these stories.  She then interprets these stories for the contemporary reader, showing how the parables are not just about Jesus, but also about us-and they still challenge and provoke us two thousand years later.’  Group meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month @ 2:00 PM in the church lounge.  All are welcome!

THE EVENING ADULT ENRICHMENT GROUP. WE ARE DOING A STUDY ENTITLED, FAITHFUL: CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE EYES OF JOSEPH. There is precious little we know about Jesus’ earthly father, but his life contains valuable lessons for us to consider. Joseph’s courageous actions were crucial to the birth of Jesus and God’s salvation plan for all humanity. Through this study, we will explore the life of this often overlooked person of the Nativity story. We will be meeting on the first and last Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 PM in Room #22 of the Christian Education Building (Room will be open at 6:30 PM for those who would like to bring and eat their dinner before the study). ALL ARE WELCOME! Upcoming Meeting is  2/26/19.
